Low Alloy High Strength Steel (HSLA for short) is a kind of weldable structure steel with low-carbon. Generally,it's carbon content less than 0.25%, compared with ordinary carbon structural steel,HSLA steel has higher yield strength and yield ratio, better hot and cold forming process and weldability, lower cold brittleness and Aging sensitivity, and has better capacity to resist corrosion of atmospheric and sea water. The content of alloying elements usually lower than 2.5%.It can be used only after hot rolling or through simple heat treatment, so these steels can be mass-produced and widely used.
